National Cadet Corps

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the Indian military cadet corps with its head Quarters at New Delhi. It was established in India during the year 1948 and since then, it remains open on voluntary basis for both college and school students of the country. Air Force, Army and Indian Navy are three groups which are involved in grooming of the country's youth into patriotic, responsible and well-disciplined citizens. NCC is a voluntary organization which is open to school, college and university students all over India. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.

Aims of NCC

  • To develop character, commandership, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and the ideals selfless service amongst the youth of the country.
  • To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in walks of life and always available for the service of the nation.
  • To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the armed forces.
