The Board of Deans at Prof. Ramkrishna More Arts, Commerce and Science College serves as a high-level academic and administrative advisory body dedicated to upholding academic excellence, fostering strategic growth, and ensuring policy coherence across the institution’s faculties and departments.

The Board, typically chaired by the Principal/Dean of the College, comprises Deans of various faculties along with other senior academic leaders. The primary function of the Board is to guide academic and administrative matters in alignment with the college's mission, vision, and core values.

Objectives of the Board of Deans

• Develop, review, and implement academic and administrative policies that strengthen institutional governance.
• Identify and recommend opportunities for academic innovation and collaboration.
• Provide strategic guidance on academic planning, quality assurance, faculty development, and student affairs.
• Serve as a consultative platform for interdisciplinary coordination and institutional planning.

Functions and Responsibilities

• Policy Development and Review: Formulates and regularly reviews policies related to curriculum design, admissions, examinations, research, student affairs, faculty recruitment, and administrative operations.
• Strategic Planning and Oversight: Provides inputs for institutional vision, mission, and strategic plans; advises on performance review and quality enhancement initiatives.
• Coordination and Academic Leadership: Facilitates inter-departmental coordination, promotes academic innovation, and develops collaborative programs.
• Resource Planning and Development: Advises on optimal resource allocation, infrastructure, and faculty development needs.
• Collaboration and Partnerships: Identifies opportunities with industry, academic institutions, and research organizations; reviews and approves MoUs.
• Faculty and Student Affairs: Advises on faculty appointments, development, and performance; addresses student welfare and co-curricular development.
• Governance and Compliance Monitoring: Ensures policies align with statutory frameworks; coordinates with institutional committees such as ICC, SC/ST Cell, OBC Cell, and Examination Grievance Cell.
• Advocacy and Representation: Represents academic interests and communicates concerns to senior leadership.

Operational Guidelines

• The Board meets regularly and as required to deliberate on academic and administrative matters.
• All recommendations are documented and forwarded for implementation.
• Maintains transparency, confidentiality, and fairness in all discussions.
