Objectives

• Uphold and regulate the academic standards of teaching, research, and evaluation throughout the college.
• Develop, review, and approve curricula and syllabi for all courses and programs.
• Oversee fair conduct of examinations ensuring integrity and transparency.
• Formulate academic policies for teaching, evaluation, and academic integrity.
• Advise departments and academic units for continuous improvement.
• Appoint examiners, moderators, and academic personnel for evaluation procedures.

Functions & Responsibilities

• Setting Academic Standards: Ensures that teaching, research, and examination practices meet high standards of quality and relevance.
• Curriculum Development: Reviews and sanctions course structures, syllabi, and academic calendars as per guidelines.
• Examination Oversight: Supervises the planning and execution of examinations to maintain standards.
• Policy Formulation: Develops academic policies on attendance, grading, evaluation, and integrity.
• Advisory Role: Provides recommendations to departments for enhancing academic quality.
• Personnel Appointments: Selects examiners, moderators, and other academic functionaries.

Composition & Meetings

The Academic Council comprises the Principal as Chairman, Heads of Departments, senior faculty members, and nominees from the university or governing bodies. The council meets periodically to review academic progress, approve new courses, and deliberate on important academic matters.
