About the Department
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched a scheme on skills development based higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the NSQF.
Department of B. Voc. (Interior Designing) has been established in the Academic Year 2018-19.
The B.Voc. (Interior Designing) programme is focused on providing undergraduate studies which would also incorporate knowledge and understanding of the interior design process from inception to completion.

Vision
The vision of B. Voc. (Interior Designing) is to promote strong ethical values and professional attitude by encouraging critical and creative thinking along with understanding interior space interactions through exercises developed around the same.
Mission
The mission of the B. Voc. (Interior Designing) department is to inspire, educate and prepare students to become innovative professionals or entrepreneurs with requisite skills.
Objectives
- The Interior Design program is built to initiate a thoughtful and reactive design process.
- It facilitates the students to understand and create human habitation spaces through varied understandings of theory, studio, practical skills, live projects, case studies, field trips and encounters with industries and professionals.
- It also aims at inculcating an environmental awareness within the student for the benefit of human health, well-being and productivity.

Academic year 2018-19
State Level Seminar on "Advancing Entrepreneurship: Inspiring Young People" was organized by department of B. Voc. on Friday and Saturday i.e. 21st and 22nd December 2018. It was sponsored by Research Cell, SavitribaiPhule Pune University.
Department regularly conducts Guest lectures, site visits, live sketching, workshops,Group discussion and market surveys for better understanding of students.
Lantern and diya making workshop has been conducted for F.Y. B.Voc.(Interior Design) students.
POP Sculpture making workshop has been conducted for F.Y. B.Voc.(Interior Design) students.
Department conducts Model making workshop for F.Y B.Voc. (Interior Design) students.
Academic year 2019-20
• This year the department has introduced a subject called “Business Communication Skills”, where the students get to learn the art of public speaking, body language depiction and the talent of self expression.
• Department has organized field visit on “Set Designing” for better practical knowledge.
• Guest lecture on "Entrepreneurship" was organized by department of B.Voc. On 13th December 2019.
• One day workshop on “Entrepreneurship & startups in Basic Science.” was organized by department of B.Voc. On 4th feb 2020.
• Department regularly conducts Guest lectures, site visits, live sketching, workshops, Group discussion and market surveys for better understanding of students.
• Poster making activity based on social awareness has has been conducted for F.Y. B.Voc.(Interior Design) students.
• Best out of waste – product making and model making workshop has been conducted for F.Y. and S.Y. B.Voc.(Interior Design) students.
• Lantern and diya making workshop has been conducted for F.Y. and S.Y. B.Voc.(Interior Design) students.

- Department had conducted online Surya namaskar session for students on the occasion of birthday celebration of Sharadchandraji Pawar Saheb.
- POP model making activity has been conducted for F.Y. B.Voc.(Interior Design) students.
- Best out of waste – product making and model making workshop has been conducted for F.Y. and S.Y. B.Voc.(Interior Design) students.
- Artefact or product making from newspapers workshop has been conducted for F.Y. B.Voc.(Interior Design) students.
- Department conducts set designing and model making workshop S.Y. B.Voc. (Interior Design) students.
Academic year 2021-2022
To promote the competitive spirit and to bring out the talent of the students, they are encouraged to participate in various co-curricular activities.

- The B.Voc Interior Designing department has organized material market surveys, site & field visits for the students.
- Competitions like model making and product designing, etc. were conducted during the course of the year.
- Regular group Activities are held in which the students participate and display their project work.

The Department of B.Voc Interior Designing organized and participated in various curricular and co-curricular activities during the academic year 2022–23 to enhance students' practical knowledge, creativity, professional skills, and industry exposure.

- Architecture & Interior Exhibition Visit (A&I Digest 2023).
- CONSTRO International Exhibition Visit.
- Online Workshop on "Achieving and Implementing Thermal Comfort Standards in Affordable Housing".
- ACE Tech International Exhibition Visit.
Co-Curricular Activities:
- PCCOE–IJBC Know Japan Event.
- Interior and Art Exhibition 2022–23.
- Young Entrepreneurs Bootcamp 2023.
These activities provided students with opportunities to explore new technologies, materials, design trends, entrepreneurship, global career prospects, research-based learning, and professional development. The department's efforts contributed significantly to the holistic growth and skill enhancement of students.
Academic year 2023-2024
The Department of B.Voc Interior Designing organized various curricular and co-curricular activities during the academic year 2023–24 to enhance students' creativity, technical knowledge, and industry exposure.
Curricular Activities:
- Guest Lecture on Illumination and Lighting Systems (11 September 2023) was conducted by Architect Ar. Krupanjali Nehre, providing students with practical knowledge of lighting design and its applications in interior spaces.
- Educational visits to Constro International Exhibition 2023 and A & I Digest – Architecture & Interior Exhibition 2024 exposed students to the latest trends, materials, technologies, and innovations in the construction and interior design industry.
Co-Curricular Activities:
- Ganesh Idol Making Competition (09 September 2023) encouraged students to showcase their creativity, artistic skills, and craftsmanship through traditional art forms.
Academic year 2024-2025
The Department of B.Voc Interior Designing conducted various curricular and co-curricular activities during the academic year 2024–25 to enhance students' practical knowledge, professional skills, and overall personality development.
Curricular Activities
- Interior and Furniture Expo Visit (28 September 2024): Students explored the latest trends in furniture and interior design and interacted with industry professionals.
- Faber Showroom Market Survey Visit (25 October 2024): Students studied modular kitchen designs, materials, layouts, and modern kitchen appliances through practical observation.
- Visit to PDEA’s College of Architecture: Students gained hands-on exposure to model making, material selection, and architectural workshop practices.
Co-Curricular Activities
- Parents-Teacher Meeting (10 March 2025): Organized to discuss students' academic progress, career opportunities, and strengthen parent-teacher collaboration.
- Jai Shivaji Jai Bharat Mega Padyatra (19 February 2025): Students participated in a patriotic and cultural event promoting national pride, unity, and civic responsibility.
- These activities provided students with industry exposure, practical learning experiences, professional awareness, and opportunities for personal and social development.

- The Department of B.Voc Interior Designing organized various curricular and co-curricular activities during the academic year 2025–26 to enhance students' practical knowledge, creativity, and professional skills.
- POP & White Cement Wall Art Workshop (08 July 2025) – Developed practical skills in decorative wall finishes and texture creation.
- Cap Painting Workshop (05 August 2025) – Enhanced creativity and surface decoration techniques.
- Eco-Friendly Ganesh Idol Workshop (14 August 2025) – Promoted sustainability and environmental awareness.
- Stone Painting Workshop (22 August 2025) – Encouraged artistic expression using natural materials.
- Glass Painting Workshop (25 August 2025) – Explored decorative applications of glass in interior design.
- Creaticity Furniture Mall & Advaya Interior Exhibition Visit (13 September 2025) – Provided exposure to contemporary furniture, materials, and design trends.
- Nilkamal Homes Showroom Visit (13 September 2025) – Offered practical understanding of furniture design, space planning, and showroom displays.
- These activities enhanced students' creativity, technical skills, practical knowledge, and industry exposure in the field of Interior Designing.

Hrutuja Karande won '2nd prize for Poster presentation' in State Level Seminar on "Advancing Entrepreneurship: Inspiring Young People" on dated 21st - 22nd December.
Academic year 2019-20
B.voc Interior designing students continue to excel. here are just some of the examples of our student achievements from the year 2019-20: Hrutuja Karande and Megha Jadhav, an interior designing (second year) student received an 1st prize for rangoli compition' in inter college science exhibition ( poster, model & rangoli competition 2019). Under DBT STAR college scheme on the auspicious occasion of birthday of Hon. Shri. Sharad Pawar.

Hrutuja Karande student of T.Y.B.Voc (Interior Designing) have made this beautiful rangoli on the occasion of birthday celebration of Sharadchandraji Pawar Saheb.
Megha Jadhav and Neha Sable student of T.Y.B.Voc (Interior Designing) have got selected as a intern in creative architect and interior designing firm.
Interior designing students successfully participated in “Yoga from home Activity” which is arranged by department of physical education and sports and N.S.S on the occasion of 7th International yoga day.
Interior designing students successfully participated in “Covid Care protocol” which is arranged by department of physical education and sports and N.S.S.
Teaching Methods
Lecture Method
- There are 2 and 4 lectures per week for the 2 credit and 4 credit courses respectively. Duration of each lecture is 60 minutes.
- Teaching is done through demonstration.
- Apart from books actual industrial experience is shared in lectures.
Laboratory Methods
- We encourage our students to understand design process and work out innovative design solutions.
- To enhance designing skills Studio exercises are given to students.
- Design projects with real scenarios are given.
ICT
- Power point presentations is presented to the students.
- Video tutorials of various design activities and construction techniques are used for better understanding of students.
- Google classroom facility is used by the faculty and students. Assignments, teaching-learning material, PowerPoint presentations are shared through google classroom.
Experiential Learning
- Students are advised to conduct regular market surveys.
- To enhance presentation skills case studies are presented by students.
- To prepare students for the profession, students are juried for their design projects and given a chance to interact with professional designers.
