Right to Information Act
The Right to Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005) came into force from 15 June, 2005.
It provides citizens the right to secure access to information under the control of public authorities
to promote transparency and accountability in governance. According to UGC guidelines, all universities and
colleges established by law or substantially financed by the Government are considered public authorities under this Act.

Procedure
- Submit application in English or Marathi to the Public Information Officer (PIO)
- Pay prescribed fee of ₹10 (No fee for BPL applicants)
- Receipt issued with application details
- Information provided within 30 days; +10 days if third-party consent needed
- No charges if timelines are not met
